Cat Rescue... Part II
So after the tragic incident with our dear, little one NOVA, we were quite devastated. Word got around from our friends about what happened, and turned out that a friend of a friend of a friend’s cat just had a litter of kittens. The cat’s owner did not have enough room for all of the kittens and was desperate to find homes for the little babies. There were three kitties needed to be adopted. We were still quite sad about our little one, but we figured we would at least go look at the babies. Well, suffice it to say, we MacBeth’s have a very soft spot for cats. We took one look and couldn’t say no.
We knew we could only afford to bring one of the kitties home. We seemingly have an affinity towards tabby cats, so we picked the grey and white striped kitty. She also stood out to us with her funny little kinked tail, one little freckle on the tip of her nose, and the two little ginger spots on her back gave her a cute uniqueness. We couldn’t believe how big she was compared to NOVA! With these features, we wanted to continue our naming animals after astronomical jargon; therefore we named her JUPITER.
We love her very, very much, and are convinced she might be the next best thing to sliced bread. The first night she was a little scaredy cat. She was still getting used to all of the changes and new surroundings. She meowed all night long and gave us a little insight into what it might be like to have a human child. Tyler had to stay up with her all night long petting and soothing her. But over the past couple days of living with us she has warmed right up. She sleeps right in between us at night now, and no meows. She loves Tyler very much and will follow him everywhere he goes staying right at his heels. We are hoping this is a good sign for our strong desire to leash train her so she can come on walks with us. She is incredibly playful and agile. Be expecting an overwhelming amount of kitty photos. She is constantly doing new cute poses for us to take pictures of.
