LORD + LADY MACBE+H

Rest in Peace Little One.....

Some extremely sad news occurred this morning at 11:00. Our precious little kitten, NOVA, passed away. She was approximately 5 weeks old and was diagnosed with a serve intestinal bacterial disease. NOVA came from a local rescue shelter, which a friend of ours helped us find last week. We had been wanting to rescue an animal for a long time and decided we were ready. At the shelter there were 5 kittens all the same ages, yet quite different in colors. NOVA stood out the most from her siblings, with her cute orange/yellow fur, dark stripes, and even mismatched colored boots. It was one of the hardest things ever for us to only choose one kitten to be saved. Fukuoka Prefecture puts down the most animals in all of Japan, so knowing this made it even harder to not take them all. Coming home with NOVA was one of the most exciting times for us. Since she was so small we had to keep a close eye on her and always keep her warm. After the first night we began to see some not-so-good signs. She wasn’t really eating and constantly sleeping with no energy. We thought maybe because of new environment change or because she’s so young. Still we took her in to a local vet, and he told us that she indeed had a large amount of bacteria within her intestines and prescribed medicine. But some medicine just isn’t strong enough. The next day she was lively and eating but then began to fade during the evening. We were so confused, thinking she was hydrated and nourished, we still called our friend who has 4 cats for advice. Our friend said let’s take her to a vet. note: it was 9pm, most animal hospitals were closed. Just by chance we caught the vet leaving and he instantly helped us. NOVA was hooked up to an IV and put in a incubator for the past few days. She had some close calls, but regained giving us hope for her survival. Yet some pain is to unbearable, especially for such small little kittens. She passed away Monday, June 6th. She will be deeply missed even though we only had her for barely a week, we bonded so close and loved every moment of taking care of her. We will miss her meows, resting on our necks, whimpers, following us every time into the bathroom, and ever so adorable little face and paws. NOVA we know you are free from pain now, but know we will always love you.

note: we also found out that none of the other siblings had made it over the weekend, and was determined that the mother cat must have passed on this disease to her little ones
